But how good is your security?

Don't be fooled by our cheerful public image. When it comes to security we are very serious. This website is protected by SSL (Secure Socket Layers), so any information you give to us is encrypted by strong 1024 bit RSA encryption, impossible for hackers to break. When your information arrives at our server, it is encrypted again. Even if some very very determined hacker were able to locate and break into the computer, evade firewall and administrative detection, and guess the root password, then guess the database password, all he would see of your information is something like this:

But what if a good email is quarantined?

Emails are saved here on this server for one month, where you can view and manage them. It is common for good emails to be quarantined during the early 'training' phase. When you use our "whitelist" feature, then your associate's email will always be delivered smoothly afterwards.

But won't people be offended by having to "jump through a hoop" to contact me?

Our focus groups show that people aren't offended in any way by jumping through an anti-spam hoop, because the problem is everywhere and they understand the need for healthy boundaries. In fact, they express positive regard for those who have discovered an effective solution to the problem.

But why should I have to do anything to have spam-free email?

The Internet is an unpatrolled public space, and that freedom permits not only tremendous sharing of information, but also tremendous sharing of unwanted information. It's a jungle out there, so it's up to you to protect yourself.

But why shouldn't I just buy (or pirate) a program once, and install it on my home machine?

Spam is a moving target. Every day it changes and the spammers get smarter, so the software has to get smarter. But is it hard to set up?

Not at all. Set-up happens once and takes only a minute, then you are spam protected. It was designed according to the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Spock!), so you don't have to be a computer programmer to operate it. That's our job.

But what if I want sales letters from my favorite companies?

The Spam Eater loves to eat sales letters! But sometimes you want a sales letter to arrive uneaten. That's why every subscriber has a personal "whitelist" of approved senders. Just log in to your account control panel, then add a list of your approved email addresses and domains, or select emails in quarantine and hit the "Whitelist" button. After that, all emails from those addresses will come to you unfiltered. You can also use the subject filters to allow email that contains key words or phrases, as specified by you.

But what if I want to block somebody that really bugs me?

As a subscriber, you have a "blacklist" that explicitly blocks certain addresses. Just log in to your account, then add a list of addresses and domains, then any email from them will be quarantined automatically.

But what happens if The Spam Eater "crashes"?

Nothing bad! Unlike our competitors, who demand that you fetch all your email through their servers, if our server should break down temporarily, then you can still receive your email, although it would be temporarily unfiltered.
